Notes:
While William was the Domesday lord of Porchester he attested no charters
but he is said by Henry II in 1153 to have been chamberlain of the treasury
(exchequer) and to have passed the office to his son Robert Mauduit. Robert
died in the White Ship disaster in 1120.
