Does anyone out there have any information on Nicola de la Hay, the lady who
was involved in the defence of Lincoln Castle during the Fair of Lincoln in
c.1216? I'm interested in where she came from, how old she was during the
"Fair" and things like that.
Cheers,
Sarah Doyle

You have the same wife listed for 2 Richard, and for 3 Richard. Doesn't
it concern you that 3 William died in 1260, while his brother 3 Gerard
was born about 1150?
taf
Hmm. Something is clearly awry. Burke's, my source for most of these
references, lists no dates. Rechecking Burkes, I see that Walter should
be a 3, not 2. Back to the drawing board on this one, I see.

Is this Milicent de Rethel related to Melisind de Rethel (died ca. 1161),
daughter of Baldwin II, who married Fulk V, King of Jerusalem?
(as a Norwegian Minnesotan) I thank you.

Ed, following your exchanges on this thread I see you're hard at work on
this one. Might it help confuse things if I mention that according to
various accounts including VCH-Oxfordshire, XII (1990), 274, Richard de
Camville (d. ca. 1176) is the 2d husb of Millicent, widow of Robert Marmion
(who, as you say, d. ca. 1144)? I thought so.
Cheers,
Cris
No idea.
Marriage dates?
My source (Ä = Weis, _Ancestral_Roots_, 7th ed.) reflects the order you
show but no dates. My software arbitrarily assigns an order unless I
have at least the date of the 2d marriage.
Understand and sympathize!
Cris
It is.
Cris
It is very long and covers seven generations, starting with John de
Oxenbridge of Atte Gale, Beckley, "Jurer 1329 and 1341." (What does the
term Jurer mean?)
Will send a copy via a generic word file as transcribed to my database to
all who request, because it is really too long for general posting.
