Hi all ..
I am new to this list .. due to the fact that I saw a post on the Gen
Medieval searches for Count Von Browne ... so after trying to email the
people concerned with no luck .. thought I would try here.
I am dearly HOPING and crossing my fingers .. a kind person might be
able to help me please ?? I am really needing to find the parents of
William BROWNE esq, solicitor, Rutland Sq. Dublin Ireland. I calculated
he was born approx 1790 .. he married in Lancashire : Mary Chaffers in
1821. They lived in Dublin and he worked as a solicitor .. as far as I
can tell. There is a connection to the ......
"Brownes of Camus, Co. Limerick; Field Marshal Maximilian Ulysses Browne
(1705-1757) was son of Col. Ulysses Browne, of Camus, Co. Limerick.
George Count de Browne (1698-1792) was yet another famous continental
soldier of the Camus family." ....
William married Mary Chaffers in Lancashire 29 Mar 1821 :
Marriage: 29 Mar 1821 St John, Preston, Lancashire, England William
Browne - Solicitor of the City of Dublin Mary Chaffers - Spinster of
this Parish Witness: W. Corry; George Corry; Wm. U? Chaffers; Margaret
Unsworth Married by Licence.
Their children as far as I know were :
John Patrick (Patricius) Browne b. abt 1820
Mary Bridget b. abt 1822
James Unsworth Browne b. abt 1823 and died in 1883 Australia
Charles Townley Browne b. abt 1826 and died 1908 in New Zealand.
On William Browne esq. daughter's death notice 1867, (she was born Mary
B. Browne about 1822 ... her death : Mary Walsh Estimated Birth Year:
abt 1822 Date of Registration: 1867 Death Age: 45 Registration district:
Dublin South Death Country: Ireland Volume: 17 Page: 533 FHL Film
Number: 101583 ... I am assuming it is the correct person)...
.... in the Australian papers ... she is known as ..... "WALSHE, Mrs
Mary B., died at herresidence in Phoenix Park, Dublin and daughter of
William Browne, esq, solicitor Rutland Square, Dublin, and sister to
James U. Browne, Daylesford Victoria. Grand niece of Count George
Browne, Brigadier-general etc (Russian Service), cousin to the Baron
Scheoppingke (formerly charge d'affaires for His Majesty the Emperor of
Russia at the Court of Portugal) and the Princess Alexandra, Leiven, St.
Petersburg, Russia." ....... seeing that this family might be quite
interesting to check out .... I really need to find out who William
Browne's parents were ... so I can connect them to Count George Browne
as the newspaper clipping suggests a family connection .... hoping
someone can help me please .. thanks so much
regards
