Dear Newsgroup ~
Complete Peerage 5 (1926): 280-281 (sub Fauconberge) has a good account of Sir John Fauconberge (beheaded at Durham in 1405), son and heir apparent of Sir Thomas Fauconberge, 5th Lord Fauconberge, by his 1st wife, Constance Felton.
Regarding Sir John Fauconberge's marriage, the following information is provided:
"He married Joan, widow of Robert del Bowes (son and heir apparent of Sir William del Bowes, of Streatlam, co. Durham), who d.v.p., i.e., before 22 Dec. 1399, and daughter of Sir Robert Conyers, of Ormesby, co. York, by his 2nd wife, Aline, Lady of Homildon .... [Sir John Fauconberge was] beheaded at Durham, 20 July 1405 ... His widow [Joan] married, 3rdly, before 28 July 1408, Sir Thomas Brounflete the younger (son and heir apparent of Sir Thomas Brounflete abovenamed), who was living 14 July 1417, and d.s.p. and v.p., i.e., before 31 December 1430. She died 6 or 7 Nov. 1438." END OF QUOTE.
Complete Peerage indicates that Joan Conyers' 3rd husband, Sir Thomas Brounflete, was living in July 1417, and died before Dec. 1430.
Recently I located a lawsuit in the records of the Court of Common Pleas which indicates that Sir Thomas Brounflete the younger (husband of Joan Conyers) died before Hilary term 1427:
In Hilary term 1427 Joan widow of Thomas Brounflete, Knt., the younger, sued Thomas Watkynson, of Flixborough, Lincolnshire, husbandman and John Hen[___], of Whitton, Lincolnshire, husbandman in the Court of Common Pleas regarding debts [Reference: Court of Common Pleas, CP40/664, rot. 25f (available at
