Has the ancestry of William Bulkeley (Bulkylegh), the deputy chief
justice of Chester (d. 1467) who is allegedly the same as the
purported father of the Katherine (?) who married Randle Brereton of
Ipstones, been determined? I see in perusing the archives that there
has been much confusion and disagreement in this matter, arising from
discrepancies in the sources (e.g., Ormerod,_Hist. of Chester_2).

For that matter, is the identity of the wife of the abovementioned
Randle Brereton even established?

It would help, were someone to go through all the sources and chart the
primary documentation for the passage of Ipstones. That would at least give
us good dates to start.
