My apparents forefather, Johannes de Thisenhusen (d bef 1342; born in est
1270) was attested as a magnate near Tartu and in the province of Ugaunia,
and also as sometime holder of the fortress of Koknese in the valley of
Daugava. The latter (Koknese) he claimedly held as heir of his mother.
The said Johannes' mother (Sofie), born before c1250, claimedly a direct
descendant (?granddaughter) of Vetseke of Polatsk, prince of Koknese and
lord of Tartu,
was HER father (A) knight Thiedrich Hendrichzoon, 'jure uxoris' castellan
of Koknese (d est 1245), or (B) was her father the lord Bernard de Heye (dc
1254), her mother's second husband, and himself of the family of Hoya and
counts of Wolpe
?
What do near-contemporary sources say about who was the maternal
grandfather of Johannes de Thisenhusen (d bef 1342)?
