looking for the parents of Clarice Orsino (d.1488) wife of Lorenzo I di
Medici, is it either a daughter of Giacomo Orsini (son of Orso Orsini,
Sn di Monterotondo) or of Virginio Orsini(+1497) Cte di Tagliacozzo ???

Jacob Wilhelm Imhoff, *Genealogiae viginti illustrium in Italia familiarum
...* (Amsterdam, 1710), pp. 314-15, may have originated the false notion that
Clarice Orsini, wife of Lorenzo de' Medici, was the bastard daughter of
Cardinal Latino Orsini, who was in fact her mother's brother. The
correspondence cited by Ross leaves no doubt of the actual parentage of
Clarice Orsini. Imhoff's error continues to be perpetuated even today; see,
for example, Christian Carretier, *Les 512 Quartiers de Louis XIV (Angers,
Paris, 1980), p. 42, nos. 334-35.

Signor of Monterotondo, condottiere in the service of Venice in 1482,
commisario of the Church in 1431; gave Monterotondo to his brother
Lorenzo.Flourished 1425-82

3.Maddalena Orsini
Sister of Cardinal Latino Orsini of the house of Bracciano.

By the way, Clarice's mother, Maddalena Orsini, was also a descendant of Guy
de Montfort and thus of King John of England. Details are left as an
exercise for the interested reader :)
