Hello,

A couple of weeks ago, Ed Mann posting a message outlining the lineage of
William de Hastings (1120) and his wife Ida to their descendent Sir
Leonard Hastings (1389). This lineage shows William and Ida as the
parents of Thomas, who was the father of Hugh. Was Thomas also the father
of William Hastings (died 1483), who married Katherine Neville, daughter
of Richard Neville and Alice de Montagu?

Also, in the middle of this chart was a Sir Nicholas Hastings, son of
Thomas and Amica, and husband of Emmeline de Heron. I have another
Emmeline Heron, who married John Darcy (D'Arcy), first Baron Darcy (died
1347). This Emmeline was the daughter of Walter Heron and Alicia
HASTINGS. Alicia was the daughter of Nicholas Hastings and --.

Is there a connection between these Nicholas Hastings and Emmeline Herons?
The names and dates seem too close for it to be merely a coincidence.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Benjamin

Did this Anne Hastings have three husbands? I note the following:-

David Faris's Plantagenet Ancestry of 17c Colonists page 200

Anne (-bur 17 Nov 1550) dau of Edward Hastings by Mary Hungerford m <1503
Thomas Stanley Earl of Derby (<1485-23 May 1521)

By Mary Hungerford, Edward Hastings left Anne who became the wife of Thomas
Stanley, Earl of Derby, and after his decease of John Radcliffe, Lord
FitzWalter, and a son ...........

Dunno now what Emmeline's surname was.

This has been discussed before and you should be able to find it in the
archives. It was concluded that pedigrees showing Sir Nicholas Hastings
wife as Emmeline Heron are incorrect, her surname being unknown.
