Sorry ! I should have clarified...'Direct'...father to son etc. If so
what do we know about him/them...notable in any way other than descent ?

The male line of Martin Luther is no longer extant, I think it died
out in the 18th Century,though as Grant says,there are many
descendants of Martin Luther alive today. As far as I can recall
there was nothing too notable about them.

Prior to Jan 1989 a book was compilede in Berlin, Germany by a man I
believe named Gunther Luther. The book tried to collect all the known
descendants of Hans LUDER, father of both Martin LUTHER, and his brother
Jacob LUTHER. I am descended from Jacob. I only have a Xerox copy of the
portion of the (typewritten in German) book that covers "Nachkommen Jacob
Luther". I find it interesting how many descendants settled in England and
America.
