At two different places in Ancestral Roots, I come up with the idea that
the 1st Baron Poyntz and / or the 3d Baron Poyntz were, by magic
coincidence, both married to a Margaret de Pavelley, daughter of William
de Pavelley.

Can anyone sort this out?

Here's what I have:

John MacLean, in his Memoir of the Family of Poyntz, says that the first Hugh was married to
Margaret, daughter of Sir William Paveley, and that the second Hugh was married to Margaret,
daughter of Sir Walter Paynel of Brook, Wiltshire.

CP 10:676, note b, say that Hugh de Poyntz, 3rd Lord Poyntz (d. ca. 1337)
married Margaret (Dorset Fines, 1195-1327, p. 300). It also notes that Col.
Top. et Gen. 7:149 cites the IPM of Sir John Typtot [Tibetot] (21 Hen. VI, no.
45) for her being daughter of William Paveley of Brooke.

Collinsons's History of Somerset 2:199 says that Alice de Erleigh, who married
Sir Nicholas Poyntz, knight, was daughter of the John de Erleigh who died 11
Edward III and his wife, Elizabeth.

So it seems that more documentation is necessary.
