Can anyone comment on or expand the following descendancy chart. The
sources included the NEHGR article on "The Origin of the Stuarts and the
FitzAlans" (vol. 116, January 1962), previous GEN-MEDIEVAL posts, and other
(possibly unreliable) sources (WFT, Eaton genealogy, etc.). I'm
particularly interested in the validity of the Josceline de Dinan
descendancy to William Longespee and the Flaald de Dol descendancy to
William Fitz Alan/Isabel de Say (does anyone show them having a son Robert
de Eyton?).

Thanks,

While I haven't gone back to my notes to confirm it, this looks correct.

This is more problematic. Gen. 2 Flaald, Steward of Dol, was a
documented contemporary of Hamon's sons, who would have been his
overlords. That Flaald was their brother is speculation, and I think
not well founded. (FWIW, H. Guillotel has published a paper, and is
working on another, which attempt to trace Hamon further.) From there
to Gen. 6, it would seem to be well founded (in spite of the Banquo
claims that have just been given new life by a recent history of the
Royal Dynasty of Scotland). I have not before seen the linkage between
Eyton and Fitz Alan, but am sceptical.

FWIW, I show William Fitz Alan, b. 1110, m. Helen Peverel b.1115, and their
son:
William II Fitz Alan ,<1136-1210> m. Isabel de Say b 1141.

Appears like a gen. missing? I do not have Robert de Eyton however, I do have
a note from a previos post:

The book "History/Genealogy of Eaton Families," by Nellie Molyheux, 1911,
traces the EATON line to its beginning as such:

1-- Banqui of Lochabar Thane (A. D. 1000)
2-- Fleance of Banqui
sp-Guenta Princess of North Wales
3-- Alan Fitz Flaald
sp-Amiera
4-- William Fitz Alan
sp-Isabel de Say
5-- Robert de Eaton
