Presumably the Stafford Barlow who was at Henrico County, Virginia in
the 1630s-40s fits into the Lutterworth, Leicestershire family of Audrey
(Barlow) Almy's father Stafford Barlow: does anyone know anything about
the Virginia man? Or was he perhaps Audrey's father himself?
This Virginia man shows up via a casual google search as a headright and
subsequently 'undersheriff' of the county; it does not imediately appear
that he left known descendants in Virginia.
A different query: it does not appear that the family of Stafford Barlow
of Lutterworth was armigerous, at least as far as registered grants or
visitations go. Does anyone have any information to the contrary?

Oops, I meant by Leslie, and John Brandon.

Chronologically, I wonder if he's the same man. What does Gary say of
him? (I don't have the 2008 edition handy.)
Actually what is said is: For Stafford Barlow of Va., under sheriff of
Henrico Co. in 1640 see VM 11 (1903-4):279-80. A monograph on the
Lutterworth and/or Va. Stafford Barlows would be welcome. See also
TAG 61 (1985-6):178 and AAP, P. 266, esp. VM is the Virginia Magazine
of History and Biography.
So, it doesn't discuss the relationship per se, it merely gives
