I'm hoping someone has a good suggestion or three for me. Basically,
I don't like any of the genealogical software that I've seen/used.
They all seem to be very vertically-linearly oriented (so&so begat
so&soJr...), i.e., you can only see one direct line at a time.
What I'm looking for is software that would show more horizontally-
oriented information, i.e., intermarriages between families and how
families branched out.
Is there any such beast?
So, for example, let's say I'm working on my Swynford family stuff
(which is about all I do). I'd like to go back into the Roeulx family
as well as back into the direct Swynford line, but also show wherein
the various Darcy intermarriages happened, the Chaucer line, the
Luttrells, cousin Swynford lines, the Beauforts, etc. etc. etc.
Any ideas? I'm on a Mac... but could run WINE if need be.
Kindest thanks in advance,
Judy

Check out, this beast...

Click on cousins button at the bottom, select 2nd, 3rd, 4th cousins
etc. The only program I know of that actually shows relatives
horizontally.
There's also a Mac version
