I was prompted by a Facebook post where the OP suggest she is the descendant of Edward Spencer, to review what I had

I note confusion as to the names and number of Edward's heiresses

I found the will of this Edward PROB 11/615/135
in which he clearly states that he has two daughters, then living, neither yet 21, named Elizabeth and Anne.

CP 5:55 (sub Rochford) says that the mother of the 5th (and last) Earl of Rochford says that his mother was Anne [not Elizabeth], "daughter and co-heir of Thomas Spencer of Rendlesham" and widow of the 5th Duke of Hamilton.

CP 5:270 (sub Hamilton) says that the 3rd wife and widow of the 5th Duke of Hamilton was Anne [not Elizabeth], "daughter and co-heir of Thomas Spencer of Rendlesham" and that she subsequently married Richard Savage Nassau, father of the 5th Earl of Rochford.

The bio of Richard Savage Nassau (father of the 5th Earl of Rochford) in HOP 1754-1790 says that his wife was Anne [not Elizabeth], "daughter and co-heir of Thomas Spencer of Rendlesham".

CB 4:133 (sub Dashwood) says that the wife of Sir James Dashwood, 2nd Bt., of Kirtlington was Elizabeth, ""daughter and co-heir of Thomas Spencer of Rendlesham" and it also notes that she was the sister of "Anne, Duchess of Hamilton".

Finally, check out Copinger, Manors of Suffolk 4:319, which discusses the manor of Rendlesham, which says that Thomas Spencer of Rendlesham (d. 25 March 1728 "leaving two daughters only, Elizabeth and Anne" and that the manor of Rendlesham passed to his daughter Anne, who is stated to have married the two husbands mentioned above.

It seems pretty clear that the 1830 obit of the Earl of Rochford is in error in identifying his mother.

Good luck in your search for primary sources to answer your question. Of course you do have one primary source stating that
Edward Spencer had two daughters, Elizabeth and Anne. So your search is for primary sources regarding their marriages - which narrows the search down.

In the absence of primary sources, you may want to consider the relative reliability of the secondary sources that have been cited.

Ann Nassau was buried 17 March 1771 at All Saints, Easton, Suffolk per a transcription of the National Burial Index in Findmypast.

The National Burial Index states Elizabeth Dashwood was buried 28 April 1798 at St. Gregory the Great, Rendlesham, Suffolk, aged 80 years. Her will identifies her as the widow of Sir James Dashwood of Kirtlington Park, Oxford (dated 20 Dec 1796, proved 26 Apr 1798, PROB 11/1305/218, digital image in Ancestry).

William Baker married Susan Sparrow 10 Nov 1689 St Nicholas Church, Ipswich, Suffolk. Their daughter Anne was likely born the following year, probably in Ipswich, presumably before Rev. William was made rector of Layham.

Sarah (Heigham), Lady Bingham, who married 2nd, as his 2nd wife, Edward Waldegrave of Lawford Hall (c.1560-1621), is descended from Edward I - see my reply to you above.

Another source that supports Sarah Heigham, wife of Richard Bingham, as the daughter of John Heigham of Giffords Hall and Martha Yelverton is part 1, p. 76 of Joan Corder's 1981 edition of the 1561 Visitation of Suffolk (Harleian Society, Visitation Series, new series, vol. 2).

By her 2nd husband Edward Waldegrave, Sarah Heigham is ancestral to Princess Diana.

Out of curiosity, which HOP entry needs correction?

I have the same, Will. No Edward I descent for Dorothy (Gawdy), Lady Parker (d. 1639), but five lines of descent from Edward I for her husband Sir Philip Parker of Erwarton Hall (1601-1675), all through his paternal grandfather, Sir Philip Parker of Erwarton Hall (d. 1604).

Oops, my mistake – I read my data too quickly. The 5 Edward I lines for Winifred Parker are indeed through his father Sir Philip Parker and not through her mother Dorothy Gawdy, as Will and Brad have indicated.

But Dorothy Gawdy does (I believe) have Henry II descents – tracing back via the families of Bacon, Gresham, and Lynne, to Joan Knyvett, daughter of Sir John Knyvett and Elizabeth Clifton. Sir John Knyvett has a Henry II line via Knyvett, Botetourt, FitzThomas, Beauchamp, and Longespee to Henry II.

The Henry II lines for Elizabeth Clifton are actually lines to King John - one line through each of her parents. The Clifton line goes via Cromwell, Bernake and Marmion to Lorette de Dover, granddaughter of King John. The line for Elizabeth’s mother Margaret Howard goes via Howard and Cornwall to Richard, Earl of Cornwall, son of King John.

These lines are all in the Genealogics database – unless I’ve misread something!
