This is quite a shocking scandal, although not *quite* as upsetting as the scandal involving the former lover of Anderson Hays Cooper's mother's mother's sister, a member of the British royal family, that "genealogist" Will Johnson doesn't know about.
Will Johnson also doesn't know that Anderson Hays Cooper is related to the Duke of Marlborough and to the Earl of Winchilsea and to Dominik Cornelius Valentin Gerold Eugene, Graf Coudenhove-Kalergi.
But Leo does.
It might interest some to see an American connection outlined between Anderson Hays Cooper and those listed above to Patrick Wintour, political editor of the Guardian and, not just to him, but also to his sister, Anna Wintour, *editress* of Vogue magazine, via common American ancestors. I assume Will Johnson will know what an editress is even if nobody else does. These people are also all descendants of Richard Cecil and Jane Heckington and thus related in countless ways to Sarah Margaret Ferguson, Duchess of York (and her daughters, and their eventual descendants, should they have any).

Would I be correct in assuming there is only one Long Island Strickland family, descended from a certain Lt. John who is mentioned in the 2nd series of the Great Migration Project?

I actually found this Wintour connection tracing descendants of William Cooper, a Bucks County, Pennsylvania ancestor of my mom's whose descendant Ann Strickland married Gerardus Wynkoop, a distant cousin of my dad's. According to "The Welcome Claimants Proved, Disproved and Doubtful With An Account of Some of Their Descendants," by George E. McCracken, Sarah Cooper, m. (1) ca. 1727 Joseph Strickland, "a tailor born in Dublin, Ireland, 15 Aug. 1705, died between 1 May and 13 Aug. 1737 dates of execution and probation of his will."
I have to admit though, that I figured there might be a connection to some of your Dutch origin "upstate" ancestors among the families that the Wynkoops married into that I'm not related to. And there is a president of Rutgers in the mix, a college named for someone with a surname in your ancestry.
By the way, does your Doughty descent go through the Hicks/Whitehead families?

Noteworthy enough just for the length of the voyage at 180 years! One
wonders if it were a ghost ship, hence the doubtful descendants.
"In July 1682 The Welcome departed from England with William Penn and
about 100 others and arrived on October 27th 1862 in New Castle,
Delaware. There are newspaper accounts documenting the departure and
the arrival."
Newspapers, rare enough in 1682, were a good deal more common by 1862.
