- General sources of information on Owen, his life and his family,
especially during the period 1437-61 when he lived in relative obscurity.
- The precise details of his children. Sources vary on the name and
number of children born to Owen Tudor and Catherine de Valois. They
differ, for example, on whether their son who became a monk at
Westminster was called Owen or Thomas, and whether or not they had a
daughter called Catherine who took holy vows.
- The family of their daughter Jacina, or Tacinta, Tudor, who married
Reginald, Lord Grey of Wilton. I am aware that there were later Lords
Grey of Wilton, who were favoured by Henry VIII, which would become more
plausible if they were indeed his close relatives.
- The family and life of Davydd ap Owain (Davy Owen), Owen's illegitimate
son (any information on his mother is, I suppose, too much to hope for).
I know that Davy married Mary de Bohun, and was knighted by Henry VII,
but I haven't been able to find any information on his descendants.
- Whether or not Owen had any brothers or sisters, and if he inherited any
land in Anglesey. His father was exiled for murder, therefore leading me
to believe that perhaps there were no children born _after_ Owen - but
there is no record of whether or not he was his parents' firstborn.
- On a related matter, I would be interested to know which of the sons of
Owain Glyn Dwr (Glendower) accompanied Owen Tudor to France for Henry V's
french wars. I am aware that Thomas ap Owain was alive at the time of his
father's death, but a vague source suggests that he remained in Wales. No
precise mention is made other than the fact that a son of Owain did
follow Henry to France.
- The fate of Edmund Mortimer's children by Catrin or Kathryn, daughter
of Owain Glyn Dwr. One source states that she and her daughters all died
in the same year, for reasons unspecified. no mention is made of the fate
of her son or sons.
- It has been suggested that Owen Tudor's son, Jasper Tudor Earl of
pembroke and Duke of Bedford, had an illegitimate daughter called Elen or
Helen, who married John Gardiner and became the mother of Bishop Stephen
Gardiner. I would be interested to know if there is an factual basis for
this claim, and also if any record has been kept of Elen's mother.
- Any information on the cause and circumstances of the death of Edmund
Tudor, Earl of Richmond, in Carmarthen in 1456.
I would be extremely grateful for any suggestions on these matters.
