According to William of Newburgh in his 12th century history (tr by
Joseph Stevenson), a daughter of Louis VII of France by his third
wife Adela of Champagne was betrothed to a son of the emperor of
Constantinople. However, when the couple became of marriageable
age, Andronicus, who appears to have been the brother or brother-in-law
of the emperor, caused the son to be murdered, usurped the throne,
and "took to wife the destined bride of his nephew, being captivated
by her beauty." Subsequently, Andronicus was tortured to death.
"By these means," says William of Newburgh, "the daughter of the
king of France was defrauded of her wished-for and expected marriage
in Greece, and defiled by a connexion with an infamous wretch;
neither did she obtain her expected dignity."

Question 1: What was the name of this daughter of Louis VII and
Adela of Champagne?

Question 2: William of Newburgh says the third wife of Louis VII
(without naming her) was "the most illustrious count Theobald".
Which Theobald was this, and who was the mother?

Many thanks in advance to any and all who can help.

Louis VII married three times, with
Eleanor of Aquitaine
Contance of Castille
Adela of Champagne whose father was Theobald the Great, Palatin, count of
Blois-Champagne, and brother of the king of England Etienne (Stephen ?) de
Blois.
Theobald's wife (Adela's mother) was Mathilde de Sponheim Carinthie, a
Palatinate princess.
