Many thanks Leo :

I have read this :

1065?

Raoul II de Crespy-Valois, Cousin du précédent, sire d'Elbeuf (1065?-1074),
mort en 1074

-----------------------------

If I read Leo van de Pas : children are Adele de Mantes and Raoul, earl of
Hereford
If I read Charles Brisson : Gauthier III was a son of Drogon
if I read Pierre Aubé : Drogon and Goda have 3 Children
if I resume :
3 children are :
Adele,
Raoul,
Gauthier

Who can confirm ... (or not)

Many thanks for your help

Alain Talbot in France kindly translated the following :

Source : "Godefroy de Bouillon" - Pierre Aubé - ed Fayard 1985

If we try to translate :

" Around his twentieth year, Eustache had married, and his marriage had been
mister . Goda's blow almost had the double of his age and was besides a
widow
of Drogon, count of Vexin, who had given her three children. But it was also
the sister of the king of England Edouard the Confessor, and the girl of the
king Ethelred and the queen Emma, a granddaughter of duke Richard Ier of
Normandy. Thanks to this alliance Eustache de Boulogne entered the
relationship of duke Guillaume of Normandy for whom some did not hesitate to
predict glorious one the future. "

Here I read :
"Goda .... a widow of Drogon, count of Vexin, who had given her
three
children"
The important words are "three children" !

===So far his very much appreciated translation. At that time I had given
him the names of two children, Raoul, Earl of Hereford and Adele. He asked
whether Gautier III was also a child of this couple. Then I got hold of ES
IV 657
and found that
Dreux (Drogo) Comte d'Amiens etc., had by Goda (Edith) of Wessex, the
following three children :
1.Gautier III, Comte d'Amiens et du Vexin
1063 poisoned in Falaise as was his wife

2.Foulques, Bishop of Amiens
died after 1077

3.Raoul, Earl of Hereford
he was married and has descendants.

What about that Adele? I checked, and found I had found her as a child of
Dreux and Goda/Godgifu/Edith in Turton's
Plantagenet Ancestry page 175. Knowing Turton's reputation, I got hold of
The Ancestry of Elizabeth of York,
by Marlyn Lewis. Page 782 gives

68545 Adele de Amiens, father Dreux, Comte d'Amiens and mother Goda,
Princess of England.

This gives me the choice, either accept ES Detlev Schwennicke, who
apparently is superb about Germany but not so superb with families outside
of Germany, or Turton
backed up by Marlyn Lewis.

Sadly, I think Schwennicke this time is correct, but if he is
who are the parents of this Adele de Amiens (d'Amiens ?)
married to Hugh (Alberic) de Coucy, both are ancestors of the wife of Henry
VII of England, and therefor, I think, her parentage is important. Does
anyone know the answer?

Many thanks

Well. I'm confused?

CP Vol XII (i) page 411 (under Sudeley)

Footnote g) seems to indicate Roule of Ralph's eldest brother was a
William. CP states that Ralph was not technically earl of Hereford.

In K.S.B. Keats-Rohan's `Domesday People' page 245

Harold De Ewias son and heir of Ralph of Dreux, earl of Hereford, and Goda,
sister of Edward the Confessor. ??????, could Keats-Rohan make such a mess
of it, or am I missing something?

Don't know about Adele de Amiens, I have given up at this stage.
