And the marquesses of Saluzzo? I've always been curious about the
descendants of Isabella Doria (de Auria), daughter of Barnaba Doria and
gdaughter of Branca Doria, the one in Dante. She was a poetess -
Francesca, have you heard of her? - and married Manfred IV marquess of
Saluzzo (I sometimes have him as marquess of Montferrat).
Let me note that Branca Doria's male issue became extinct in a few years,
but almost all Doria branches are descended from him in the female line.

Bonifacio's marriages are a matter of some confusion and debate. He
married twice and possibly three times. Agnes de Vermandois was his last
spouse. Bonifacio had a homonymous son and possibly a daughter by his
first wife. So the other children are all by one or other or both of the
other wife/wives. Bonifacio made his Will at Loreto Castle 5 October 1125.
Cognasso who is followed here credits Bonifacio with only two marriages.
