Does anyone know if and how Milisent Ferrers connects to the Ferrer family
that includes the Earls of Derby and their later ancestors in Ferrieres, Fr.
?
I have her as the wife of Ralph de Mortimer, and the mother of Hugh de
Mortimer of Wigmore 1108-1185. I have as Hugh's wife, Maud Longespee.
I have no dates on Milisent or her husband Ralph de Mortimer, and nothing
more on their ascending lineage.
Also does anyone know if this same Ralph de Mortimer had a dau named Hawise
de Mortimer who was married to Stephen, Count of Aumale d. 1130 ?
I would appreciate any guidance on this.
Best Regards, Leslie Hauck
In a charter dated ca. 1100, Stephen, Count of Aumale, with consent of his
wife Hawise, daughter of Ralph de Mortimer, granted a church to the priory of
Saint-Martin-des-Champs, Paris, which also mentions Ralph's deceased wife,
Melisande. Hawise was (from another charter) clearly Melisande's daughter, but
it is not certain that Melisande was Hugh's mother.
CP 9:269 states that the "name of [Hugh's] wife is unknown."
Ralph, Hugh's father, was son of Roger de Mortimer, Seigneur of
Mortemer-sur-Eaulme, Normandy. His wife's name was Hawise.

Can you tell me how Milicent fits into the Ferrers family, and how Maud
fits into the Longespee family?
Thank you.
