The following is the Beere-Ferrers line from my
ancestry files of Frances White wife of Richard Wells of Maryland.

4. Reginald Ferrers married Margaret Deneis
5 William Ferrers married Isota ---
6. Reginald de Ferrariis
7. Henry de Ferrariis
8. Ralph de Ferrariis

I have recently read through some of the messages in the Gen-Medieval
archives about the Champernowne family. In one of those messages, Todd A.
Fermerie states that the Joan Champernowne who married 1) James Chudlegh and
2) John Courtenay (ancestor of Frances White) is sister of Alexander
Champernowne instead of his daughter, thus Frances White is not descended
from the Beere-Ferrers line.

I scribbled down these notes on the way out the door, and in some cases
I didn't get all of the information that might be of interest. Also, in
at least one case (marked "(?)") I have written what my notes appear to
say, but I am sure that what I have is incorrect.

I. (perh) Ralph de Ferrers, said by Pole to be the founder of the
family. If true, then he married Sibilla de Pyn, daughter of William de
Pyn, who was mother of the following children:

3. ? Roger, known only as father of:
A. Matilda m. Pancefot
4. Gilbert, founder of Throwleigh line.
A. Fulk, fl. 1238, 1254 m.1 (according to Pole,
but it is, at best, unsupported) Alice de
Helion. m.2 Lucy, dau. Richard Foliot.
i. Reginald
ii. Fulk, fl. 1263, 1284
a. John, fl. 1303, 1313, presumably
d.s.p., as his property is next
found in the main line.
iii. ? Alice m. William Prouz according to
Pole, and supported by Benson, but I
have serious doubts about this marriage.
