The Saviles trace descent from this marriage, although I don't know if
they are justified in doing so.

Margaret Pilkington did marry (2nd) to Thomas Savile.
This is verified by Wedgwood's biography of him. People
claim that Margaret Pilkington was the mother of Thomas
Savile's son and heir, who I think was named John. I
examined the chronology involved here and it appears that
Margaret was married to Nicholas Griffin at the time Thomas
Savile's son and heir was born. So, any Pilkington
ancestry through that Savile child is lost.
All the same, Margaret may well have had Savile issue.
Does anyone have a list of Thomas Savile's children?
ALl for now. Best always, Douglas Richardson
I recall seeing a pedigree of Saville that at least in some generations
showed other children. Maybe in Foster's collection of Northumberland
pedigrees (whatever the title is). If I get down town this weekend, I
will check.
