One and same woman, the chatelaine of Koknese (Kukenois) was married at
least twice.
Her earlier husband was knight Theodericus (Dirik, Diderik, Dietrich),
castellan of Koknese, whose dating apparently is such that he deceased
after 1245.
Her later husband (after Theodericus' death) was: knight Bernardus (Bern)
of Hoya, whose dating apparently is such that he deceased after 1254 and he
married the chatelaine lady before 1254. Knight Bernardus de Hoya was
obviously born in the early years of the 1200s, and surely no later than
c1220.
This Koknese chatelaine lady (of whose first name there seemingly is no
reliable record) has by later family myth been made into a daughter and
heiress of prince Vetseke, duke of Koknese (Kukenois). That's something
under-documented.
Anyway, the Koknese chatelaine lady clearly had a daughter, Sofie of
Koknese, heiress of the castle and lands, who seems to have descendants to
the present day. This Sofie seemingly was born in est 1250. Her (presumed)
son (Johannes) does not need to be born until c1270.
Various literature seems to divide about the paternity of this Sofie of
Koknese. Some literature says she was daughter of knight Bernardus, and
some other literature says she was daughter of knight Theodericus.
What is the correct paternity?
What near-contemporary documentation is the solution based on?
