I have a Sir William Hussey of Sempringham, born about 1443 married
to Elizabeth Berkeley. Isn't the Berekley a royal line? Her father
is Thomas Berkeley and her mother Petronella Brooksy.

Lincolnshire Pedigrees [HS 51:526] says that Sir William Hussey, MP, Chief
Justice of the King's Bench, etc., married Elizabeth Berkeley, daughter of
Thomas Berkeley of Wymondham, co. Leicester [her will proved PCC 1504].

Thomas's father, Sir Lawrence Berekeley of Wymondham, married Joane, daughter
of Sir John de Woodford, but this was a minor branch of the Berkeley family,
descended from Sir Thomas Berkeley of Coston, co. Leicester, son of Thomas de
Berkeley "the Wise," b. 1245, d. 23 July 1321, by his wife Joane Ferrers,
daughter of William de Ferrers, Earl of Derby. [Their descent if given in
Lincolnshire Pedigrees (HS 50:127-8); and see Nichols' History of Leicester
2:413.]

So you get back to the 'noble' Berkeley family and the marriages which descend
from royalty, but it takes a while.
