Recent discussion of the Wolferston family made me review my notes and
discover that I do have a document that sheds light on Dorothy
Browne's second marriage.
We had previously known that Dorothy's first husband Edmund Lee of
Stantonbury, Bucks died 20 Mar 1599. They had at least or exactly two
children, Dorothy and Mary
Dorothy's second marriage to Robert Wolferston occurred 15 Dec 1600 at
St Dunstan's in the West and they had at least or exactly one child
John, who Douglas states "appears to be that" John baptised 24 Feb
1603 at St James Clerkenwell, London
We also knew previously that Dorothy married her third husband by 1616
as he is stated to have died about that year. William Ascue "second
son" was Gentleman of the Privy Chamber to King Charles I
I also show a link on
http://www.stirnet.com/HTML/genie/british/aa/ayscough02.htm
for those who want to see his ancestry and connections.
They had at least or exactly one son
Sir George /Ascue/ , of Ham-Haw, Chertsey, Surrey; Admiral of England
Captain of the "Expedition" (a ship) in 1646
died 1671
However, to my knowledge, we have not have a good way of pinning down
the borderline between the second and third marriages.
Today we do.
