Sir James Tyrrell, said to be one of the Murderers of the Princes in the
Tower, married the daughter of Thomas Butler, 7th Earl of Ormond. Can
anyone put a name to the spouse? And does anyone have any record of their
offspring ?

I believe the Tyrrell ancestry is feebly traced back to the Tyrrell who shot
William Ruffus in Morant's History of Essex [Philip Morant (1763-8), 2 vols.],
various visitations, etc. I can't recall a definitive study of this family.

Any idea who Margaret Darcy's parents were?

Benjamin wrote;

Margaret dau of Robert Darcy (-bur Holy Trinity chapel, All Hallows church,
Malden) of Maldon by Alice (-1448/9 bur Holy trinity chapel) d&ch of Henry
Fitzlangley and widow of John Ingole, a rich merchant of Maldon, Essex

Margaret's sisters:

1) Eleanor m Sir William Tyrell of Heron (-14 Apr 1471 bat of Barnet field)
2) Anne m Montgomery
3) Alice m John Clopton of Kentwall
4) Elizabeth m Henry Bruyn (-c1461)
5) Catherine m Robert Crane

and her brothers:

1) Sir Robert (-1469/70); Of Maldon and Danbury; In 1420 sheriff of Essex
and Herts; m Elizabeth d of Sir Thomas Tyrell (bfr 1397-1476) of Heron.
She m2 Richard Haute. Descendants Baron Darcy of Chiche and Viscount
Colchester.

2) John (aka Thomas); Of Tolleshunt, Essex in right of his m2; m1 Anne d of
Sir Thomas Tyrell (bfr 1397- 1476) of Heron (his brother's sister in law
and his sister's brother in law! - perhaps it was a triple wedding?); m2 a
d&gh of Bois/Boys of Tolleshunt and left issue by m2 Darcy's of Tollishunt

There is a little inconsistency here in that Margaret's husband William
Tyrell was younger brother of Thomas Tyrell (bfr 1397-1476) of Heron, and
thus a generation above her sisters' marriages. I guess she was auntie to
her sisters etc etc.

BTW A brother of William Tyrell (-1471) was Thomas (-c1481) m Elizabeth d&h
of Henry Bruin of South Ockendon and left Tyrells of South Ockendon. Henry
Bruin or Brun is a descendant of the Bruns just mentioned in my message
Rokele/Rokesley.

of England)

Was the Jane Tirrell, born about 1510, married Edmund Lewknor, of
Tangmere, Sussex, a member of this family?

I have not be able to find this m. in neither my Tyrell nor my Lewknor
notes, nor can I see it mentioned in O F Browne's "Tyrells of England", but
as this book is not indexed, it may be there somewhere.
