Thank you for your good post. Much appreciated.
The discovery is the marriage record of Dorothy (Browne) Lee and Robert
Wolverstone [Wolferstan], Gent. is an important find.
Their known son, John Wolverstone, appears to be the John, son of
Robert Wolverston, baptized at St. James Clerkenwell, London 24
February 1603.
I might add that on the same page as the Lee-Wolferstan marriage is the
1597 marriage of Michael Beresford, Gent., and Dorothy Seyliard, widow.
The groom was the paternal grandfather of the New World immigrant,
Dorothy Beresford, wife of Major John Brodnax (died 1657), of York
County, Virginia; the bride was also the maternal grandmother of
Dorothy (Beresford) Brodnax. For particulars of Dorothy (Beresford)
Brodnax's identity and extended royal ancestry, see my earlier posts in
the soc.genealogy.medieval archives.
Again, thanks for sharing the Lee-Wolverstone marriage with the
newsgroup.
Sincerely, Douglas Richardson

As a followup to your important discovery of the marriage of Dorothy
(Browne) Lee and Robert Wolverstone, Gentleman, I can add another piece
of information.
I've determined that administration on the estate of Edmund Lea [sic]
late of Pitstone, co. Bucks, Esquire, was granted to his widow,
Dorothy, 31 March 1599 [Reference: P.C.C. Act Book, fo. 9; abstract
published in Genealogist, n.s. 9 (1892): 160]. As per your post, widow
Dorothy Lee married in London the following year to Robert Wolverstone,
Gentleman.
Also, the source for the 1603 baptism of John, son of Robert
Wolverstone, which I cited in my earlier post is Hovenden, True Reg. of
St. James, Clarkenwall 1 (Harl. Soc. Reg. Series 9) 1884).
Once again, thanks so much for taking the time to share your findings
with the newsgroup.
Sincerely, Douglas Richardson
