She is daughter of John Mowbray, 2nd lord Mowbray (son of Roger) and
his wife Aliva de Braose, daughter of William. This is from Ancestry of
60 Colonists, by Weis and Sheppard, 7th Ed. , p. 148; Foster's Pedigrees
of Yorkshire, 1612.

In "The Royal Descent of 500 Immigrants," Gary Boyd Roberts identifies
the second wife of Sir William Plumpton of Plumpton (d. 1362) as
Christiana.
In the 4th edition of "The Magna Charta Sureties, 1215" (1991), Christiana
is identified as Christian Mowbray (d. 1365), widow of Richard de
Emildon, alderman of New Castle. Does anyone have any additional
information about
Christian/a which might help pin down her family of origin? Thanks in
advance!
