I would be very interested if anyone knows more about any of these, or
could recommend printed genealogies of families by the name of de
Lanoij (Lanoy, Lannoy). I am familiar with some of the genealogies of
the noble family of de Lanoy/Lannoy, but only the medieval parts.
Thank you in advance.
Sincerely,
Peter Kurrild-Klitgaard
I'm highly interested in the background of your enquiry. If you have a look
on my homepage http://www.ghes.myweb.nl/ you will find a number of La
Noij/Lannoi etc. from Amsterdam. My ancestor is Marike Saelmons La Noij,
daughter of Salomon La Noij and Marie Blanchenoij. She was baptized on April
2, 1670 in Amsterdam. Her parents married on May 5, 1665 in Amsterdam.
Interestingly Salomon was "from Nieuwkopping" and I presume this means
Nykoping in Sweden (or Nykobing in Denmark??). His profession was
"zijdegrofgreinwerker" (difficult to translate, anyhow a kind of silkmaker).
I'm pretty sure that your Marie is related to "my guys".
Please let me have your comments.
Best regards and mange takk
