Dear Newsgroup ~

Complete Peerage 1 (1910): 30-31 (sub Abergavenny) has a good account
of the history of George Neville, Knt., Lord Bergavenny (died 1492).
The editor states that he married (2nd) (as her 4th husband) Elizabeth
(_____), widow successively of Richard Naylor, citizen of London (died
1483), Robert Basset, Knt., Lord Mayor of London (died 1484), and John
Stokker, of St. George's, Eastcheap (died 1485) [see also C.P. 14
(1992): 6–7 for a correction in the order of Elizabeth's marriages].
No date is provided for the marriage of this couple.

The lease document below is found in the helpful online A2A Catalogue
(http://www.a2a.org.uk/search/index.asp). It shows that Sir George
Neville and his second wife, Elizabeth, were married before 29
February 1488/9.

For interest sake, the following is a list of the colonial immigrants
who descend from Sir George Neville, Lord Bergavenny (died 1492), and
his first wife, Margaret Fenne.

l. St. Leger Codd.

2. Edward Digges.

3. John Fisher.

4. Warham Horsmanden.

5. John Oxenbridge.

6. Katherine Saint Leger.

7. Mary Johanna Somerset.

Best always, Douglas Richardson, Salt Lake City, Utah

Douglas,

You are always so onesided when you display "interesting descendants", you
only give gateway ancestors. In this case you miss out on a great number of
interesting descendants.

I also have a Eyre Coote Croker as a gateway ancestor but I am not sure of
his time frame.

Well, you missed out on

Ian Fettes
Tim Powys-Lybbe
John Steele Gordon
Rachel Ward
Sir Winston Churchill
Bertrand Russell
Primula Rollo, wife of actor David Niven
Elizabeth II, Queen of Great Britain
Lady Diana Spencer
Sarah Ferguson
Camilla Parker-Bowles
Albert II, King of The Belgians
Henri, Grand Duke of Luxembourg
Peter II, King of Yugoslavia
Michael I, King of Roumania
Rainier III, Prince of Monaco

With best wishes
Leo van de Pas
