I'm looking for information about ancestors of John Harbin b. c. 1560 or Mar
4, 1539 in Somerset, England, d. Mar 9, 1638. He was High Sheriff of
Dorset. He married Bridget Dreury. He inherited Newton Surmavile House
from his father Robert Harbin b. 1528 or 1526 or 1536 in Weeke, Gillingham,
England d. Dec 24, 1621 in England, buried in Church of St. John the
Baptist, Yeovil, Somerset, England. Robert Harbin married 1) Margaret
Mounsell in Yeovil, Somerset, England & 2) Margaret M. Mervin.

Margaret Mounsell (John Harbin's mother) was born 1537 or 1528/1529 in
Blanford, Dorset, England & died 1567. She was daughter of Peter Mounsell of
Blanford, Dorset, England.

Margaret M. Mervin was born c.1540 in Wiltshire, England. She was widow of
William Drewry when she married Robert Harbin. She is the daughter of Sir
Edward Mervin.

Bridget Dreury was born 1565 or 1560/1561 in Yeovil, Somerset, England and
died 1625 in England. She was daughter of William Dreury and Margaret ____.

I got all of this information from Glenn Harbin with alternate dates from
other people. Can anyone correct or add to this information? I would also
like to extend these families back several hundred years. Do any of these
people appear as descendants of any noble or royal individuals through
either paternal or maternal lines?

> I found a reference that the family pedigree may also be found
>in Burke's Royal Families, vol.I, page 41. As this book was printed in
>London in 1851, I have no immediate idea of its location.

Does anyone have access to the above book? What does it say about my Harbin
family?
