Below is a new Magna Carta line for Elizabeth Hilton, wife of Richard
Thimbleby, Esq., died 1522, of Poolam (in Edlington), Holton le More,
and Irnham, co. Lincoln. The following colonial immigrants descend
from this couple:
1. Katherine (Hamby) Hutchinson, of Massachusetts
2. Olive (Welby) Farwell, of Massachusetts
The evidences for this new descent will be found in the forthcoming
book, Magna Carta Ancestry.

I'm not sure what your source is for the Christian name of "Margaret"
Willoughby. She is named "Margery" or "Marjory" in the two sources I have
seen (Sir Henry Willoughby of Wollaton by A. Cameron, Transactions of the
Thoroton Society - 1970 Volume: 74; GEC Vol: VIII p.290)
For anyone who may be interested, there is a beautiful alabaster alter tomb
of Sir Hugh Willoughby in Willoughby-in-the-Wolds Church in Nottinghamshire.
In addition in the Church of St. John the Baptist, Middleton, Warwickshire
there is a life-size 15th c. brass memorial to Sir Hugh's wife Margaret
Freville and her 2nd husband judge Sir Richard Bingham.

Thanks for your response. Yes, you are correct. Godfrey Hilton's
wife was Margery not Margaret Willoughby. Although in many instances,
Margaret's were also known as Margery, this woman seems to have been
consistently Margery in the records. See for instance her IPM in
Calendar of IPM, Henry VII, 1:530 (1898). Her mother Margaret Freville
on the other hand was consistently known as Margaret.
By the way, Margery Willoughby married (2nd) William Walron. She
married him after 1472. I haven't been able to identify him. Do you
have any ideas as to his identity?
Is the Thimbleby line in your ancestry, Peter? If so, what is your
descent?
Thanks again for your post.

I'm afraid I don't know anything about William Walron.
The Thimbleby line is not mine but the Willoughby/Freville line is, via
Margaret Freville's heir Sir Henry Willoughby.

Thank you for your kind words. Also thanks for showing the connection
from the Willoughby family down to Olive (Welby) Farwell. Perhaps
others here on the newsgroup can supply the connections down to the
other immigrants.
Besides the new Willoughby connection, Olive (Welby) Farwell also has
the new Brus-Fitz Marmaduke-Lumley descent which I posted last
month.
