Dear followers of the newsgroup, the website WARGS by the late William Addams Reitwiesner hasn't been working since some months ago any idea why?

He passed away some number of years ago, sadly.
I believe I may have taken a full mirror of it before it went offline if it is needed.

Dear Joe, I knew he had passed away years ago but after his death the website continued to be operared by his assistant but this year for some reason the website went offline.
Did his assistant give up or something?
Fortunately the Web Archive has screenshots of its pages before it went offline

It was hosted by, or at, Rootsweb for several years. I suspect that it was getting little usage.

Rootsweb does not routinely remove sites based on activity however
I have had pages up in their freepages space that haven't been modified in ten years

If you go to William Addams Reitwiesner's Wikipedia page, you'll find a
link to archive.org's capture of it:

https://web.archive.org/web/20170630045134/http://www.wargs.com/

Not complete, but better than nothing.

The wargs.com website is now back up. there was an issue with the hosting site changing the IP address and I had some difficulty gaining access to another account via a defunct e-mail. All should be good now. Thanks, Chris

WARGS's chart for Camilla Shand Parker-Bowles gives as ancestors:

#108 Henry Peters, of Betchworth Castle, Dorking, Surrey, partner in the firm of Masterman & Co. bankers, of 34 Nicholas Lane, London. Lord of the Manor of Teddington. M.P. for Oxford 1796-1802. A much fuller account of the Irish Beecher/ Becher ancestry is given here:

The early parts of the pedigree are lacking in specific dates, but I find an Edward Becher baptised at HARTLEY WESPALL, HAMPSHIRE 20 Jul 1576, son of "Vaine Becher"

I take this to be Fane Becher and Susan Dabridgecourt's second son Edward

To follow up, in your source they note also the next two sons to be Fane and William

And I find similarly at HARTLEY WESPALL, HAMPSHIRE, "Phayne" baptised 25 nov 1582 and William baptised 25 Jul 1585 (J139411 wj)

The father is listed as Becher only for Phayne, and as Vaine Becher for William

I believe that the George Dabridgecourt, father of Susan, mentioned here is the same George of Stathfield Saye

Yes, Gary Boyd Roberts included the Dabridgecourt descent from Robert II of France in the 2004 edition of RD600. Do you have a new version of this descent?

I don't have a copy so I don't know what he said
But starting from

Elizabeth du /Roeulx/ of Stratfield-Say , Southampton (as heiress)
who d 26 Sep 1405

I have at least four distinct French descents for her
One goes through Otton III de /Trazegnies/ , Seigneur de Braine-le-Château
One goes through Sohier II d' /Enghien/ , Lord of Zottegham
One through Aleidis von /Zotteghem/
and one through William de /Say/ , Knt son of Alice of /Stratfield/

There are also a few more details on the Morrice family listed there in WARGS ascent

William Morrice and Mary Chadwick were married
16 Jul 1737 Saint Anne and Saint Agnes Aldersgate, London (Batch M022361 wj)

It was of such note to appear in the contemporary Historical Register

Where we learn that William was the son of "Admiral Morrice of Bettshanger"
and that Mary was "of NorthFleet Kent"

It turns out that Constance Maria Georgiana Peters has an additional and shorter royal ascent. Not to Robert II of France, but to David I of Scotland, through the Bagot of Blithfield family

Are you going to share this shorter descent with the group?

By the way, although Anthony is *called* second son, he was actually what I would say today as "third but second surviving son". His eldest brother Thomas died in infancy
