First, has Mary Corbet's pedigree been established through her father Sir
Robert instead of her previously supposed mother?
Second, Burkes Extinct Baronetcies & the Pearsall Genealogy both identify
another daughter, Juliana, of Sir Robert Corbet who supposedly married Sir Hugh
Peshall of Horsley, Staffordshire. Outside of these two somewhat suspect
sources, I have not seen any mention of Juliana Corbet. Anyone come across
Juliana elsewhere?

Hamon Peshall, younger brother of Sir Adam Peshall of Horsley married
Alicia Harley who was the daughter of Robert Harley by Joan daughter of
Robert Corbet (and his wife Elizabeth le Strange), but this was the
grandfather of the Sir Robert Corbet in question (whose widow m. Mallory)
In the material I have available I do not see a Hugo Peshall. My
information above comes from the Adam and Hamon Peshall write ups in the
publication of the House of Parliament Trust
Offhand, it would seem to me the most distinguished of the Corbet ancestors
came from the Strange and Erdington lines, not from a royal descent
(unless you consider Elizabeth Strange to be a descendant of Joan
Princess of Wales)
Shawbury came to the Corbets from the Erdingtons and Moreton from the
Turets, apparently a Saxon family

There is an article in The Genealogist 10:1 which covers the Peshall/Harley
connection in great detail and also explains how the Corbets of Moreton Corbet
came to get part of the Barony of Caus, covering temp. 1270-1400. See
specifically p. 37. When I wrote that article, I had taken the word of certain
other authorities that the Mallory connection was correct rather than checking
it myself (though it was an incidental point to what I was writing about). I
will not do that again.
