The VCH article has Margaret Daumarle marrying Stafford and Elizabeth, her
sister marrying Bonville (maybe a careless use of 'respectively'). I have
checked the IPMs cited and found others which clinch the succession through
George. George had a John as his heir and Isabel as George's wife. Isabel's
IPM says she was George's wife and her heir was John de Meriet Kt. VCH
refers to an article in Proc[eedings] [of the] Som[erset] Arch[eological]
Soc[iety] (since it is cited in the abbreviated form indicated I assume the
expansion suggested is the full title) 28:100-167. If the reference is to
one article then it is a hefty effort. I shall try to locate this.
I have also gained some information on the Daumarle family (and in
particular the IPM of William father of Margaret and Elizabeth) but some of
the material is confusing. One branch (if it is a branch) ends with a
battery of coheirs, stemming from the daughters of William D (d.1256) son
of Robert D.
