The term, I believe is a _typo_ by which the writer probably meant
scutifer conquestoris. This may or may not have been proper Latin at
the time (scutiger, or previously scutigerulus, may have been
preferable), and I do not know if the designation was properly assigned,
or used by a D'Aubigny at that time. The term means, _Shield-bearer of
the Conqueror_, and implies that duty or function for the individual.

Perhaps another of the group has some input as to the propriety of
this _title_.

Deus volt.

Right Todd, I don't know

Was she sister of Geoffroi de Montbray, Bishop of Coutances (1049-1093) ?

I show her as Amicia de Mowbray with following notes: Sister of Geoffrey,
Bishop of Coutances, according to Orderic Vital, "one of the bishops with
attendant clerks and monks, whose duty it was to aid the war with their
prayers and councils." Amicia also had another brother, Roger de Montbray
(Mowbray).

Always optimistic--Dave
