I am researching the Livermore family of Lavenham, Suffolk and I was
hoping somebody maybe able to help me further.
I noticed recently that the Drury family (or Drieu) used to own land
at Great Livermere in Suffolk. One of the branches of this family is
noted as de Livermere. Robert de Livermere, son of Humphrey de St.
Edmund (Drury). This Richard de Livermere I believe had a son named
Nigel de Livermere. What happened to this family? Did it continue on
as the Livermere family or did they become Drury's? Could they be the
originators of the Livermore family, also of Suffolk?
I am principally looking for information on a Robert Livermore,
christened 5 March 1598, Lavenham, Suffolk, son of Rychard Lyvermare.
Firstly, is this the same Robert Livermore who married Margaret Kempe
on 28 October 1628, in Ashdon, Essex? He seems to be the only Robert
that fits at the present time.
Also, is this Robert Livermore the brother of Daniell Lyvermare
(Daniel Livermore), chr. 19 Jul. 1579, son of Rychard Lyvermare?
Daniel married Elizabeth Hammond (chr. 1 Apr. 1574, Lavenham, Suffolk)
and he died bef. 10 Nov. 1633, Wethersfield, Essex (could be
Withersfield, Suffolk). There children immigrated to Watertown,
Massachusetts.
The children of Rychard Lyvermare, seem to be the following (including
Daniel and Robert above):
1. Daniell Lyvermare, chr. 19 Jul. 1579, Lavenham, Suffolk and died
bef. 10 Nov. 1633, Wethersfield, Essex
2. Sara Livermare, chr. 8 Apr. 1582, Lavenham, Suffolk
3. Stephen Lyvermare, chr. 27 Sep. 1584, Lavenham, Suffolk
4. Anne Lyvermare, chr. 3 Sep. 1587, Lavenham, Suffolk
5. Grace Lyvermare, chr. 18 Jan. 1596, Lavenham, Suffolk
6. Robert Lyvermare, chr. 5 Mar. 1598, Lavenham, Suffolk, died
(possibly) 20 Apr. 1663, Ashdon, Essex.
I am slightly worried about the 9 year gap between Anne and Grace, but
there could be further children in a different parish.
Can anybody help me?
Regards,
James R. Yeowell, Wiltshire, England.
