Ok List here I am again !!!

Ok now have more of mystery on Frances WHITE/WHYTE who supposedly married Richard Wells! Can anyone shed some light?

I have been told by several that Frances WHITE/WHYTE b. 1622 Hutton Hall, Essex, England m. John PETRE and not Richard WELLS which has been indicated by the "Genealogy of The
Family of Stockett" by Frank Stockett as well as other references besides the one by Henry Wright Neuman.

I found a reference today that the Frances WHITE/WHYTE that married John PETRE was born abt 1621 of Hutton Hall, Essex, England; buried: .3 Aug 1711 of Writtle, Essex, England.. They have Frances WHITE and John PETRE marrying about 1690 and John's death date as 15 May 1690. This was submitted by The Medieval Families Dept. of The Family History Center. No other sources listed.

Also received in an email 9 March 1999 from Carol Mitchell the following:
"In a report for Anthony R J S Adolph, Research Dept. Achievement, Ltd. 79-82, Northgate,
Canterbury, Kent CT 1-1BA.
The main evidence comes from the Essex Recusant, Journal, Vol 17#1, of hte Essex Recusant Society. Where
Father Godrey Anstruther abstracted the wills of Benjamin PETRE, Frances Petre, his mother, formerly WHITE, and
and her husband John PETRE. "Benjamin PETRE, alias WHITE, Bishop....was the eldest son of John PETRE, Esq. of
New House on Cooksmill Green, Writtle, Essex, by his second wife, Elizabeth, daughter of John PINCHON of Writle.
born August 10 1672, he lost his mother in 1678 and his father took a thrid wife, Frances WHITE, from whom
Benjamin derives his alias. She was the daugther of Richard WETON, first Earl of Portland. Frances was sister of
Jerome WHITE who seved Mary of Madena and was give a jewell by Prince Rinaldo, a Jewell which Jerome bequeathed
to Frances (Vol. II, pg 348)." (Frances husband, John was son of Lord John PETRE and Mary WALDEGRAVE, and
granson of Sir William PETRE, secretary to Queen Mary and Queen Elizabeth). "

So we may be dealing with 2 different Frances WHITE's!!!

I also found reference that says that Frances WHITE/WHYTE dau of Sir Richard WHITE/WHYTE and Lady Catherine WESTON was sent to VA as they fled to Italy where they both died. (Maryland Genealogical Society Bulletin, Winter 1987, Vol. 28, #1,
p. 39 - ... because of their Catholic faith fled from the family seat at Hutton Hall in Essex, England to Rome. For unkown reasons they sent their young daughter, Frances to VA where she married Richard...a surgeon...) (Richard WELLS was a surgeon!!!)

(Wurts; MAGNA CARTA, vol 6 pp1996,97,98, "...was the namesake of her maternal grandmother, Frances, Countess of Portland. She came to Va. about 1627.."

Will of Thomas STOCKETT, Anne Arundel Co., MD; 23 Aug 1671.
To wife Mary, entire estate, real and personal, during life.
To son Thomas and unborn child, if son, all real estate at death of wife afst.
To cous. HENRY WHITE, personality.
Exs: Brothers, Francis and Henry STOCKETT and Richard WELLS.
Test. Thos. BESON, Jr., Thos. Hedge. I.430
(Maryland Calendar of Wills: Vol 1 page 61)

Richard WHITE/WHYTE was 54 at the time of his death in Rome in 1634. This would make his birthdate around 1580. He is buried: Church of St. Maria, Magiora, Rome, Italy. He was married at about age 42 to Lady Catherine WESTON which would have been abt 1622. So if this is true Who was his 1st wife ????

Also for him to have been born ca 1580, Frances WHITE/WHYTE b. 1607 could be from his first wife?? Frances WHITE/WHYTE
b. 1622 could be from his wife Lady Catherine WESTON. (I have Frances born 1607, 1615, 1622 depending on which souce I use)
I have been unable to find her exact death date. One person says 1645 but that can't be because Richard WELLS, his Wife Frances, and 11 children supposedly went from VA to MD in 1652.

Richard WELLS will was also proved in London in 1668.

Ok now HELP!!!!!
