Thanks very much.
This would indeed make the Idrissids descendants of the Sasanians.
Idris I was son of Abdullah/Abdallah al-Kamal/al-Khamil/el-Kamil.
Abdullah was in turn son of al-Hasan al-Muthanna by his wife, Fatima
Sugra/Sughra, according to an historical type account I've found at a web
site (not a genealogical database). Your message indicates that Fatima
Sugra, always stated to have been a daughter of al-Husain, was by his wife,
the Persian princess.
Now, if the Maia to Idrissid connection is correct (I'll carefully read
Chico's book when it's published), those of us descended from Sanchia de
Ayala can trace back to the Sasanians and, apparently through them, to a
Kushan emperor of India and to a Jewish exilarch.
I'm currently reading what I can on early Islamic and Indian history to
see what further support I can find for these critical connections.
