William Mytton living 1485 married Margaret daughter of Thomas Corbet of Leigh (Lee). There are several Thomas Corbets of Leigh. Does anyone know which is the father of Margaret?

I have Margaret's parents as Thomas Corbet (abt. 1390-1489) and Jane
Beverley.

before 1700", Frederick Lewis Weis, 1992, seventh edition. And, from a post
by Richard Williams rah.wi...@virgin.net on an "England" genealogy forum.
Mr. Williams seems to have done an in depth study into the Mytton and Corbet
families. Even though he states that much of his information is unverified,
I have found very few errors in his work.

In other works, Beverley is read as Burley and Jane Burley is given as one of
the dtrs. of John Burley. This John Burley is usually given as the MP and
father of William. Burley.

At this moment, there is no evidence for the filiation.
However, there is a filiation for Isabella Burley who married a Thomas Corbet
of Leigh.

My source for the marriage between John Mitton of Weston and Margaret Leigh
is the Visitation of Shropshire 1623 (Harl. Soc. Vol. 29 page 360). This
source is cited in Mr. Lloyd's reference to "Ancestral Roots" However, no
mention is made of the wife of Thomas Corbet of Leigh. In Vol. 28 of the
same Visitation under Corbet appears "Thomas Corbet de Leigh = Jana fil.
Joh'is Beuerley* de Brownkeff [Brownhill] in Cornedale in com. Salop
militis". *the footnote says "Probably Burley of
Bromcroft. John Burley of Bromcroft Castle was Sheriff 1409" There is no
daughter, Margaret shown. "Ancestral Roots" has no reference to the wife of
Thomas Corbet. There is a citation to Wm. Salt Soc. I page 367 to which I
do not have access.
