The Maryland Hall of Records and the Maryland Historical Society are two of the
main depositories for genealogical records in the State of Maryland. During
our many research visits there we found several interesting records and
references about Richard and Grace (Fitzmorris) Deaver, who came to America in
1658, and some of their descendants. In our book there are several pages
quoting from the records we found. Information that we found elsewhere about
them is also included. We also give you his descendants and bring several of
them up to the present time. This is just one of the many families you will
find in the DEVER AND RELATED FAMILIES BOOK.
In our book we tell you about the three sets of children that have been
attributed to Richard and Grace Deaver/Dever, and we give you some information
about this. Two of these lists were by previous authors. We used our own list
from the records we found during our researching, and the one we feel very
strongly is as near the correct list as you can get and the one that we had
correct information on to carry the names forward to later generations.
Church records give the death dates of Richard and Grace, the date depending on
whether the old or new calendars were used, (Gregorian Calendar or Julian
Calendar), some writers used a double dating method. Records show that they
came as servants. The inventory of his estate is very interesting.
We have included in our book THE DEVER AND RELATED FAMILIES
several of these records and references. A few of them are; They owned and
operated an Ordinary (Inn). The Council of Maryland, 1660-1661, declared that
the men to be raysed in Anne Arrundell County be randevoused at Richard Devers
his plantacon. Information is given in our book about their many parcels of
land and tells you their names and locations. There are also Rent Roll Records
that list Richard Dever.

book. It is also a history of the people in it, and of their daily lives.
