Big Stone Gap is the home of best-selling authors John Fox, Jr., and
Adriana Trigianni. It is located southwest of Norton, in Wise County
Virginia. Local attractions include The Trail of the Lonesome Pine
(official State Drama), Southwest Virginia Museum, and Harry Meador
Coal Museum. (Civil War) General Imboden was an early promoter of Big
Stone Gap. Big Stone Gap was one of many towns that grew after up
after the railroads arrived in the 1890’s.
