James H. Deaver, born 1823, was a Surveyor No. 1 in Rockingham County,
Virginia. His ancestors and descendants are given in our book THE DEVER AND
RELATED FAMILIES. The records in our book tell how, why and where he was
killed while attending the wedding of his sister Maria Agnes Dever. The Dever
Plantation was built on land settled by his great grandfather Hugh Dever in
Augusta Co., VA. now in Rockingham Co., Va.
