Has anyone had success finding ship records of people escaping from Europe
during WWII?

I am specifically looking for passenger lists from the ship called
Mouzinho/Monzinko/Mousinho that sailed from Lisbon to NYC in August 1941,
possibly arriving on September 1, 1941. The passengers I am seeking were
German Jews who were in southern France prior to getting papers to travel to
the US.

If there are any suggestions of how to find this ship's passenger lists,
please let me know.

Carol,

my grandparents parents travelled on the Mouzhino in Aug/Sep/1941. I
have copies of the passenger list, pictures of the ship, etc.

Pls contact me privately and we can explore this further!

What an amazing coincidence! My brother-in-law Charles H. BRUNSWICK
just left my apartment for Los Angeles Airport to return to New Jersey
with his wife Lee. Last night, on a whim, I asked him when he came to
the U.S. from Berlin, Germany, and this is what he told me:

Rudolph and Liesbeth BRUNSWICK arrived in New York City with their young
sons Charles and Fred on September 2 or 3, 1941, on the ss "Mouzinho," a
Portuguese ship that sailed from Lisbon, Portugal. The BRUNSWICK family
travelled from Berlin to Lisbon in a sealed train.

Charles said they were the last German Jews to leave Berlin officially
(this was during World War II). How lucky they were!

Please e-mail me privately if you'd like me to put you in touch with
Charles and Fred BRUNSWICK, with their permission.
