This message is addressed to JewishGen as a whole, the genners community from all
SIGs and Barbara Zimmer and Renee Steinig in particular, for all that has been
done, is and, as it looks like, will be, in the future - in anything with regards
to jewish genealogy, helping us jews re-establish broken family links from the
past (often as a result of immigration/escape from persecution).

I am today 34, and have been a member of this community as back as 2006, when I was
in my 25s (I had some 5, 6 years hiatus but am starting again :). It's a shame
people my age have no idea what goes on here. And even people the age of my mom,
who do not grasp the extension of such wonderful work (and who can imagine how much
effort, persistence, volunteer work has been put here, over all these years ?!).

I exchanged so many warm emails over these years, took part indirectly or directly
in a few fronts in giving my bits in restoring and preserving our history - such a
treasurable and honored one. How many of us do really have a grasp on the people we
come from ? Their deeds ?! I urge everyone of you not to rest in this quest, in
rescuing our ancestors honor, digging deep to reveal the truth of our past, and
this way - revive ourselves.

I am writing this message as a very small and symbolic gesture of gratitude to all
the people engaged and related in JewishGen as a whole (and all related bodies,
such as Jri-Poland, etc), and in particular to two (there are much more, do not be
mistaken) of the most helpful and generous members of the community, Barbara
Zimmer and Renee Steinig, who recently virtually developed the whole story of me
reconnecting to our Tziperstein family via letters left with my grandfather z'l.

I have collected a couple of success stories, thanks God, and people tend to think
I must be, at this stage, some kind of expert or have lots of knowledge in the
field. But this is not true. All I really did was send hundreds (really) of emails
throughout these years. The only thing I had is perseverance and a urging call that
spurs me to not let my ancestors, to whom I owe the being born (literally, like my
grandparents surviving the Holocaust, under all circumstances) - be left behind.
All the rest are really fruits of the work of JewishGen's community.

In a short, thank you, very much, Barbara, Renee, and all the other volunteers
(ViewMate translators, among others !!!) for being so much generous, helpful,
offering your time without asking nothing in return, and - for being part in
meticulously gluing scattered pieces of our endeared history, back together.

Sincerely,
Avraham Yehoshua Kahana
