A friend of mine is looking for the origins of his family name AZUELOS.
All he knows is, they are a Sephardi family, many generations in Israel,
but no clue where they came from

In the book of Abraham LAREDO, Les noms des Juifs du Maroc [the names of
marocan Jews], Intituto Arias Montano publish. Madrid 1978 - P. 234.
OJUELOS, AJUELOS, AZUELOS, AZOUELOS
A nick name for the Spanish word *Ojos* [small eyes]. Also the name of a
locality near Sevilla.
Among some proeminent persons bearing this name:
- Abraham OJUELOS, rabbi expelled out of Spain, who settled in Fes
[5305-1543]
- Jacob OJUELOS, son of Samuel, rabbi in Fes 17s
- Samuel OJUELOS, rabbi and notary, in Sefrou 5Marocco) 1751
===
They are from Spanish origin, many of them settled in Marocco. There are
still members of this family in France.
