I tried posting this earlier, but got no acknowledgment that it was forwarded
to the moderators/editors, while I've received such an acknowledgment to a
later posting. So I'll try again.

I'm searching for ROSENBERG relatives who lived in Brooklyn in 1950. The
names I have include my grandfather Simon ROSENBERG's brothers Judah and
Ruben and Judah's sons Leon and Bernard (Barney). The last contact my father
had with them was at Simon's funeral in 1950. I don't know much about these
lost relatives, but my father, Bernard ROSENBERG, said that Leon studied to
be an opera singer.

I know there are a lot of ROSENBERGs out there so a little information about
my family may help determine if you have a connection. My grandfather was
the youngest of 11 children. He came from Minsk or the area around Minsk in
approximately 1902. He was born in 1887.

Simon's father, who I believe was in the lumber business in Russia, was
married twice. The eight older children had one mother, while the three
youngest--Celia (DRAZEN), Louis and Simon--were children by the second wife.
I don't know the names of the other ROSENBERG children. I believe that most
of Simon's siblings came to America, probably around the same time as Simon
did, although their parents never came here.

Simon studied surveying at Cooper Union in New York and eventually owned
businesses that manufactured the canvas that is used in the fronts of men's
suit jackets. He married Mary Futterman (on 7/16/1916) and had two sons: my
father, Bernard, and Howard, who died when he was about 2-years-old. They
lived in New York City, the Bronx and Bayonne, NJ at various times. Simon
died in Connecticut on 10/10/1950.

There is some talk that the family name was Friedlander at one time. I
haven't confirmed this information or proved it wrong.

If any of this sounds familiar or you know anything about these relatives or
their offspring, please contact me by private e-mail at pott...@aol.com.
Incidentally, I'm in touch with some of Louis ROSENBERG's offspring, but
they don't have much more information than I do. So all of us would benefit
from and appreciate any help you can give.

Thank you.
