Caruso Family of Filadelfia, Calbria Italy

I am trying to find the parents of a Francesco (Frank) Caruso, born 10-1-1893 in Filadelfia, He emigrated to the US when he was just 18 years old on the ship "America" departing Napels to New York.
I cannot find a Birth Cert. for him and thus do not know his parents.

Can someone help me? This is the first time I need to do a search in Italy and do not know how to best do it.

I found his ship record at statueofliberty.org. His father is listed as Giuseppe and he is going to Cincinnati, Ohio to join his cousin Antonio Caruso. He is traveling with Vito Ielapi and Giuseppe Anello, also from Filadelfia. Here is his passenger info:
