Italian Ancestors to America Passenger & Immigration Lists

Hi Everyone,

My Local library has the Italians to America's Hard Cover Volumes.
Not too many Libraries carry these books as they are very expensive and you
cannot take them out. You have to view them there.

These are the Volumes I have access to:
Volume 1 Jan. 1880 - Dec. 1884
Volume 2 Jan. 1885 - June 1887
Volume 3 July 1887 - June 1889
Volume 4 July 1889 - Oct. 1890
Volume 5 Nov. 1890 - Dec. 1891
Volume 6 Jan. 1892 - Dec. 1892
Volume 7 Jan. 1893 - Sept. 1893

Here's an example of what can be found in these Books........

When I try to find family thru passenger lists, I first find their
surname and then the Italian version of their given name on a list.
Secondly, I figure out the birthage of that ancestor from the
passenger list by taking the Arrival date and subtracting the Age listed.
Then, I see if the name, age and/or birth year match up.
Once, I have found the right person, then I go thru all of the matching
surnames on the passenger list and look for an exact Arrival date that
matches up. This way I have found family members I didn't even know existed,
who traveled together.

I would be willing to go to the library for you if you'd like me to
copy down ALL, ALL, ALL, the given names under a specific surname/s you need
from the Italian to America's Volumes and send them to you via email for a
fee of $10.00, each surname (includes ALL given names listed under that
surname, whether it's 25 names or over 100+ names!).
It is a very time consuming task, that is why I am asking for the fee.

I will be glad to help you, I know how Fun and Rewarding it is to
find family and to go back another generation in the search!

Have you heard of the Family Tree Maker's Family Archives Passenger lists:
Italians to America, 1880 - 1893, CD#353?

The first fully-searchable version of this invaluable resource, Italians to
America contain information on approximately 413,000 individuals who arrived
in the United States (mostly New York) between 1880 and 1893.

Edited by Ira A. Glazier and P. William Filby and published by Scholarly
Resources, Inc., the original book version of Italians to America was the
first indexed reference work devoted to Italian immigrants to the United
States. while the entire series contains twelve volumes and covers the
years 1880 through 1899, this Family Archive contain the first seven volumes
of the series and covers the years 1880 through 1893.

Most of the records list an immigrant's age, gender, occupation, village of
origin, and destination, plus the name of the ship, and the date of arrival.
In addition, you may learn whether the passenger was literate, the name of
the ship captain and whom they traveled, how the individual traveled, their
purpose for traveling to the United States, and information on the sailing
vessel. This Family Archive also provides a valuable introduction on the
history of Italian migration to the United States to help put your family's
heritage in historical context.

Looking for Lanza family names......
I'm at a loss when it comes to searching. I also think Giovanni is in
our family name some where.....
