Rostbauer as an occupation?

Dear German Genealogists,

I'm interested in what a Rastbauer/Restbauer/Rostbauer does (the
writing is somewhat unclear, and I can't tell what the first vowel
is).

Are you sure that the first digit is a "R"? Could`nt it be a "K" which
is quite similar in Kurrende-script. I suggest the occupation being
Kast(l)bauer which would translate into case-maker, Kasten=case being a
synonym for all kinds of furniture for storage purposes, "-bauer" is not
only farmer but also -maker in occupations.

Look at the Schmette + Abel marriage record. By the way, I've
resolved my other reading problems: sloppy old German cursive being
read by an American who doesn't speak German (Feggcs=Jungges, but I
had to stand on my head and cross my eyes to see it).
